Kennecott Mines

For two weeks the mines are free so we decided to take all the kids. Gary and Jo Ann met us there.

Apparently where the mine is there use to be a town. When they were digging through one part of it they found a time capsule. In it were old war letters and lots of other cool stuff.

We saw a video of the incredible history of the mine and all the copper it produces.

It was just mind boggling to see!

Silver told us that he once had to escort one of  these giant trucks to Salt Lake. He said it took up 3 lanes on the freeway to do it.

This is a bus next to one of these trucks. Don’t get me wrong these truck look huge but when you have something to compare them with it is mind boggling how big they really are.

Jo Ann provided the quarts for all the kids to see the mine up close through these giant binoculars.

Just look at the size of this tire!

At the gift shop they each could buy something that was less than $2. It took them forever to decide!

Paris and Tristan each got a geo rock and Esher got  a candy bar.

My Love, the paparazzi was ready with the camera.

We were all starving so we went to The Olive Garden. We haven’t been there in so long-it was delicious!

So we have this thing. Whenever we get straws we usually have a straw shooting war. Grandma Jo tried and tried until she finally shot her straw wrapper at Esher. It was so funny to watch!

The food was amazing. The kids are all so good in restaurants- it is such a joy being together! Esher and I walked to Mc Donald’s and the waiter kept calling him the golden child. Everyone agreed! We had the very best waiter.
