My very best friend Jackie invited us for dinner and we gladly accepted. Between computers and gymnastics, I see Jackie every day of the week, but we never get to visit like we do when we see each other for dinner. Our kids play so well together and Nate and Jackie are always so much fun to be around we love having these opportunities.
Before we got to her house at 5:45 we had been invited to a surprise birthday party for one of our neighbors. When I drove by, there were only 3 cars in the parking lot of the church, which her husband reserved for the big party. I ran home and told Jared we had to hurry because I knew we wouldn’t be able to stay long and not many people were there. We rushed over and had a few bites to eat before we had to say good-bye. I’m so glad we went because it really seemed to make her happy. I think the husband made the mistake of telling everyone that he invited to stop by anytime between 4-6. So I think people showed up at different times which didn’t add to the crowd. As we left another family took our place so it looked the same as when we were there… I’m think that happened a lot during the party.
Okay I know every parent thinks this of their children but I just can’t believe how amazing Paris is. Our assignment was dessert so I asked Paris to make her famous funfetti cake and she gladly did. This girl makes the very best funfetti cake in the world!!! It turned out amazing!!! Jared says it’s way better than mine!! I don’t mind that so much since baking IS NOT my life long ambition, so I gladly pass this job to Paris who loves doing it.
Esher and Tristan had gone with me to drop off Aubree and Tegan while Paris stayed home with dad to bake the cake. When we returned she had this for her brother and sister. She knows how much they love to lick off the mixers so she saved these for them…..VERY THOUGHTFUL! WHAT A GREAT SISTER!!!
This was the cake we took to dinner, it was sooooooo good!!!
Jackie made an amazing roast that Nate suggested they cook in Dr. Pepper. Okay it was just incredible!!
Jackie hadn’t felt very well the day before and a little in the morning, she didn’t want her picture taken so that is her hiding behind Nate. You can barley see her eyes.
We ate and talked for hours. And again in this picture that Paris took Jackie is hiding behind Josiah. She did a better job this time because you can’t see anything but her striped PJ bottoms under the table.
Okay so about 2 hours into being there we noticed we hadn’t seen or heard Esher the whole time so we had a moment of panic until we found this….
Esher had walked in sat on the couch and fallen asleep almost instantly. And of course his sister was there to hold his hand while he slept. If you fall asleep and Tristan is around she will find you and hold your hand whether you like it or not. It’s a very cute thing she does.
The kids all had fun watching TV and playing games
The Fuchs have decided to change their name to Fox, which is what Fuchs means in German. They had an incident at school when Gracie won an award that was posted on the bulletin board. Someone changed her last name on it so with 2 other girls in the family they knew it would only start to get worse as the school years go by. So they will soon legally be Fox instead of Fuchs, but Gracie doesn’t want to wait so she has already started writing Fox after her name.
We had a wonderful evening with our friends!!! Thank you to The Fox Den for a great night!!!!
