Today we had our annual Halloween party. Paris loves to cook things for our ward party so for a week she had been saying she wants to make Chili. I have never made chili and don’t have any chili recipes. Last night they went to The Fox Den for the date night and she asked Jackie if she had a recipe. Jackie did and that is the recipe she used to make her chili.
The kids decided that they wanted to decorate their own cars (Esher his scooter) to use for the Trunk or Treat.
The girls helped me put letters on all the Dixie cups we use for each chili so people will know which one to vote for.
All the chili arrived.
And so did a ton more people than we expected. We didn’t know this when we planned the party but today is BYU’s biggest game of the year and homecoming. I thought that for sure no one would show up, so we only set up 8 tables. By the end we had set up 5 more tables.
We had some AWESOME costumes!!!
If you have seen Wicked this makes sense.
I love this because Heather and Mc Kay actually have bees in their back yard so the Bee and Bee Keeper costumes are super cute on all kinds of levels!!
Brother Kuhni got 3rd place
Sister Sanford won 2nd place
Brother Colarusso won 1st
Then we had a game for the kids. We were going to have 2 but the extra tables took up all of our extra room. We had to squeeze this game in between tables. The game was a Mummy game with toilet paper. The prize was a big candy bar.
You can’t really tell but this is Tristan.
The trunks looked awesome!!
Everyone had a wonderful time.
We were so grateful that Gary and Jo Ann were there. Pops was our camera man and Jo Ann was Jared’s personal assistant and helped him count all the ballets.
The winners were….
Paris Blanchard 3rd place…we couldn’t believe it, she has a gift for sure! She must get it from her Grandpa Lupe, he can make dog food taste amazing!!!! Right after the party Paris called Jackie to thank her for such a great recipe !
Sister Sears won 2nd
Brother David Dean for the 6th year in a row won 1st
After the party our kids built pyramids with all the left over Dixie Cups.
We just have such a wonderful ward that we love so much. We deeply appreciate everyone getting involved and coming to our parties…we couldn’t do it with out you!!!!

I love this, the party turned out great I can tell! Of course!
Also, Scott had a thought...of COURSE Brother Dean wins every year he only has like 16 people in his family who VOTE! So he said next year only allow one vote per family and see who wins...ok so maybe we are bitter for losing to him year after year BUT he does have a good point.... :)
