Early this morning Jo Ann and I ran to Gap Kids to get a new dress for the girls to wear to the West Wing. They had a church dress but not a casual dress. We found some good deals and the girls looked adorable.
We took the subway to the nearest stop to the Washington Monument and walked the rest of the way. It was really windy so it help a lot with the sun that was beating down on us.
I loved being up at the monument. I wish we could have stayed all day.
When the elevator was installed in the Washington Monument there were no children or women allow in it because it was considered unsafe, so many brave men risked their lives and rode the elevator.
You can see The Capitol on one end of it and the Lincoln Memorial on the other.
We were all in awe of how tall it was.
Paris looks so cute!
Pops
We tried forever to take this picture but the super tall guy behind them wouldn’t move and when he did he came right back.
I like how you can see the Capitol behind them. Hate that you can see that tall guy.
On our way to The White House we saw the President again. Okay we saw his youngest daughter and found out later that night that he took his girls out for ice cream, so he was in the car somewhere. The girls were in the bathroom so they again missed him. At least this time Jared got to see the motorcade.
The West Wind was amazing and to see the Oval Office was just incredible!!!
This is Jean our wonderful personal tour guide. She came on Saturday to meet us-thank you so much!!!!
Next the President’s personal residence. All of the second floor with the arched window.
Then we went to the Press Room-SUPER TINY! It felt fake like we were on a movie set imitating the real thing.
Every seat has the name of the press company or person that should be there.
This is the beefed up car that takes The President around.
We took Maria to both sides of the White House since she hadn’t seen it yet. Again she wasn’t able to see the inside so she and Esher stayed on a park bench until we came out. Thank goodness Paris bought a DSi. He just played that.
This security guy was looking right at Jared because he had just put his camera through the fence to take the picture above.
This guy has been protesting for the last 29 years. If you can find that many things to hate about this country and what they are doing seriously JUST MOVE!!!!!!
After the White House we went to eat at the cutest place outside on their patio - it was so cool.
After dinner the kids just chased the squirrels. I just can’t believe how many there are.
When we got home we ran to what is apparently the coolest cupcake shop in all of DC.It was closing in 10 minutes and the line was out the door.
After the cupcakes we took a long bus ride in search for flour for our Father’s Day breakfast-it was a blast, I just love being with my husband!!!
Tristan was wiggling her tooth all day and the next night she pulled it out herself.
Another amazing day in DC!
I LOVE TRAVELLING!!!
