10th Annual Oscar Party

                   THIS IS OUR BIG 10TH

Yes, we have been doing the Oscar Party for 10 years now and it was one of our best!!

We had a blast with all of our friends!!!!

We had a red carpet this year and actually took pictures of the families as they walked up it. Okay, Jason took most of the pictures.

          THE WAITS (who were an hour and a half late)

Nikki, Austin and Bailey showed up about 8:30pm they came straight from Idaho what great troopers!!! Sorry there are no pictures of them, but the camera was in the bedroom with Little Otto sleeping.

Mia also showed up about 8pm after dropping off Richard at the airport…. so sad!!!!!!

We really missed the Browns ….hope you all feel better soon!!

                      THE FOOD WAS AMAZING

We had Banana Leaf Tamales made and this beautiful cake from The Sweet Tooth Fairy especially designed (by Jared) just for our party. Not many people could tell that Jared had the statue represent a 1 and the film reel a 0 so it reads The Blanchard’s 10th Oscar Party. We already know what cake we want for next year. Everyone was awesome and brought tons of side dishes, chips, drinks, salad (some of us did eat it Daph) and of course, Christianne’s delightful mushrooms, everyone loved them especially Kendric who confessed to eating about 18 of them.

Everyone just had a great time catching up with friends and meeting new ones.

 

Eric is just always so excited, how can you not when you’re having twins!!!

           THEN IT WAS TIME TO CUT THE CAKE

This is when we all saw the kids suddenly appeared from either the crawl space or the WII station and then poof, they were gone once they had cake. At first we were very disappointed about the cake because the main part was chocolate and the small film reel was white…it was suppose to be the opposite because we prefer white.  When we did taste the cake it was just amazing so we got over it pretty quickly!

       FINALLY IT WAS TIME FOR THE OSCARS

A few families left, but many stayed and we tried our hardest to fill up the barn (the theater); we had over 30 people in it.

 

 

 

  

Little Otto couldn’t take it any more and fell asleep in our room!

The whole night was a total blast and we loved every second of it!!!!!

At the end of the night the Kendals again were the big winners-

Today is also our 13th wedding anniversary, but we aren’t celebrating it until we go to the World Baseball Classic in LA on the 20th of March.  My sister and mom are watching our kids so we will be alone for 3 day in LA… WE ARE SO VERY VERY EXCITED!!!!!!!
