Paris’ First Game

Today at 5 Paris played her first softball game. She went straight from swimming to her game.

I love my kids playing softball.  I played it as a kids but I was without a doubt the worst player on the team. No joke the only way I ever got on base is if I was walked or hit. I don’t even remember if I ever caught a ball in the out field. My team did win first place the two years I played which would make it even worse for me because I stood out even more as a terrible player. If I had been on a bad team I would just be one of many bad players instead of the only one. My Love says I at least looked really cute in my short shorts when I walked up to get my trophy.

My sister on the other hand was on All-Star teams from the day she started and I just loved seeing my superstar sister play. Some of the plays she made were just incredible and I have always admired her for her talent, especially since I didn’t get a lick of it!! I just want my children to have that opportunity if they want to take it, so it is always a joy when softball season starts!!

At this age it is really hard for the pitchers to pitch strikes and most of the time the girls are walked. Paris was one of them!

Daddy Daughter Date

Tristan got all dolled up to go out to lunch with her daddy. My love worked until 6:30am, so when he woke up he took Tristan to The Great Steak House for lunch. They got to sit at the counter and talk. He loves to listen to his kid’s stories! Jared loves these times when he gets to just be one on one with the kids. He tries to have lunch with each of them once a month. Seriously-this guy is just such a wonderful father!!

You can tell  by his eyes how tired he is. He only slept for about 5 hours.

Neighborhood Lunch

Today I am helping one of my neighbors paint her garage. When I drove by and saw that her garage was completely empty I had to tell her I would be more than happy to help her paint it if she wanted to. I did that to ours garage last year and it just looks so good!! Yes,I really do love painting and I’m almost our of things to paint at my house, so apparently I’m moving on to the neighbors!! Janette, is watched the kids for us and every now and then come to tell us some entertaining story. The Yolanda story is by far her very best one!!!

Rosanna, the neighbor with the garage, bought us all pizza for lunch. The kids were so cute playing games and just giggling the whole time.  Janette was also baby sitting her friend’s kids so we have 2 extra kids in the picture. You can see the garage we are painting in the background- it turned out so cool!!!

What is that?

Today Paris had art, Esher was at his friend’s house, so Tristan and I went to Target during Paris’ class. As we were driving past Orem Elementary School we saw this funny looking animal pacing back and forth along the fence. It was an OSTRICH. Yes, in the middle of Orem we found an ostrich!! We had to turn around and stare. As we looked there was also a llama behind the house and horses. Just a regular international farm in the middle of Orem.

Miss Saigon

Many many years ago I went to London and was able to see this play called Miss Saigon.  It touched my heart deeply. It was up until recently my very favorite play in the whole wide world. So, when Jared and I got married I wanted him to see it as well, but we never got a chance to do it before kids, and by the time we had the money for it, it was gone.  I was looking up plays for New York last year and I came across Miss Saigon. The U of U was performing it. I knew it would not be exactly the same but still, I wanted My love to experience it too. We had Julie come babysit the kids since we wouldn’t be home until late and it was a school night. Julie is just the best babysitter and the kids just love her so much!!! She brought Paris’ favorite game, Rush Hour. And they even rented Marley & Me to watch.  She is just so great with them!!!

We drove up to Salt Lake and had just the best time talking. I love talking to my wonderful husband!!! The play or set was really not to the same caliber as the company that did it in London but Jared finally knew the whole story. All he knew before was that there was a helicopter involved.   He said he really liked it and was so happy we had gone.  I do admit I was a little disappointed, but it still made us talk about it on the way home.  I do love things in life that make you think and feel things outside of what your normal life would!! I didn’t take the camera in so we have no pictures of anything or of us even being there. I do hope it comes back one day and we can see it again, maybe in London??!!??

Oh and my new most favorite play in the whole wide world is…. WICKED!!!!

Bella, Lizzi, and T-ball

My friend Heather finally took me up on my offer to babysit her kids.  She and McKay went up to Layton for a wedding and we got to play with their cute girls. Bella is the oldest and Lizzi is the baby, but both are really good girls!!! They just played the whole time. Our kids loved having them over especially Tristan! She played with the Lizzi the whole time and made sure she was okay at every turn. She made me feel like I really didn’t even need to be here. Don’t worry, I didn’t leave. I was able to work on my yard while Lizzi slept so it was really a perfect day, much easier than I thought!

They played all kinds of thing. Esher’s going to make a great dad, like his own!!

They played with the plastic lids for about an hour. Isn’t that funny about kids? You spend tons of money on toys but in the end they love playing with what you have in your cupboards.

FHE

Some days you just don’t feel like cooking and you want something other than just a burgers. On those days we always end up at Sam Hawks Korean BBQ. ALL of the kids love something on the menu that they always finish.

Esher loves the egg side dish that he always orders 4 of before the waitress cuts him off.

Tristan is our shrimp girl that orders shrimp no matter what ethnic restaurant we might be in.

Paris as always orders the most expensive thing on the menu Kalbi, but she eats every last bite of it, so we don’t mind.

You know you married the right person not only because you wake up with a smile every morning knowing you get to start the day with a kiss from the person you love dearly laying next to you, but because of how elated your children get when their daddy walks through the door!! Not to mention, all of us fighting to get a chance to share our day with him!! We are so blessed!!

Tonight I felt like going back in time, just a little, to when I would order these rice noodles(Douk) and cabbage on the streets of Korea. They made the perfect snack in-between class. They are extremely spicy so the kids didn’t like them that much. Jared and I shared them and talked about our days there. We have an amazing past that we hope becomes our children’s future!

After Computers

On Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays all the computer kids come over for about an hour before we take Tristan to school, so they can play together. They always come up with different things to do and most of the time it depends on the weather. If it’s not too cold they just stay outside, but if it’s a bit chilly they always come in. Today was chilly. So, they played the WII. I really love having it as an option in our home because we all have so much fun with it and so do our friends. I never thought we would ever own a video game in our home but this one is so family oriented I actually like playing it myself. I’m terrible at it and Esher kills me at anything we play but it is always fun!!

I had to take these pictures of Naomi and Esher fencing. They were both so into it they looked adorable!!! Of course, my son is in his PJ’s. He loves to wear pajamas so much that one day when he fell asleep before he had put them on he woke up the next day begging me to let him wear them for the day. Yes, he actually changed from normal clothes to pajamas to start the day. I figure he won’t be able to do that much longer, so why not.

Paris

We had a quiet, calm Sunday.  While we were BBQing our dinner Paris did this.  She was trying to get her dad’s attention but we kept talking. Finally, she laid on the ground with this written in front of her. I looked over at her and started laughing out loud, when Jared turned around, he did the same thing.  She is suppose to be yelling “DAD” in the way you would see it done in an old cartoon or comic strip. This girls is so creative in all ways that she is constantly amazing us!!!
