This was probably the best party we have ever had. Don’t get me wrong our parties are actually pretty awesome, but this one was the best. We set up 9 tables but ended up with a total of 15 tables which is usually what we do for Christmas. There were about 130 people there most with costumes. We had 13 chilies tons of cornbread and dessert.
We had a cute background for pictures-LOVED IT!!!
Then we had a tossing game section.
We had door trick or treating instead of the trunks we were going to do. It rained for most of the morning and when we were eating, so we moved it inside. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pictures of this, but it was super awesome.
Then it came time to announce the big winners for the year. The three children’s costume winners were
Siena-Jellyfish/Casey-Dr Pepper/ Mr. Spock
For the Chili Contest Brent Barrett won 3rd, Brent Christensen won 2nd, and once again David Dean won 1st. He won by lots of points. This is his 6th year in a row.
One thing that makes our parties complete is the hot MC!
Trent walked in with the coolest costume! But it was after we had voted. He would have won 1st place for sure. He helped the kids try out his stilts.
IT WAS THE BEST PARTY EVER!!!!!
PS
After the party I was asked to take another calling. This was our last activity as head of the activities committee. The first thing My Love said was that at least we went out with a huge bang!!!
I will now be a counselor in the primary. My first calling as a new member was in the primary as a Sunbeam teacher and I HATED IT!!! But this time when I was asked I was actually very excited. I will be sad not to be in charge of the activities, but I am a little relieved since they are A LOT of work. I just hope that whoever takes over loves it as much as we did and continues to make them awesome!!! I do admit that we only went to 2 activities before we were called to be in charge of them. It was because they sucked. That is why our goal for the last 3 1/2 years has been to make them rock. There were only 2 activities I was disappointed in. The first one was The Ward Campout which was not our idea and was already planned before us, with no budget. The second was last year for Christmas when we didn't get Santa because I thought we didn’t have enough money and it turned out we did. It will be fun to be able to enjoy the activities instead of working them. I think only once we have actually eaten at our activities because we are usually SOOOOO busy. We usually end up going to Wendy’s. We didn't even get to try the chili this year again. It will be nice to eat and relax at the Christmas Party.
