We had the most amazing night tonight!! Silver works at the Governor's Mansion & State Capitol, but will soon be transferred somewhere else. We have always wanted to take a tour of the capitol and Silver offered to be our person guide. We got a small group together and caravanned up to Salt Lake right after school. We headed for Mc Donald’s for dinner to give the governor time to leave his office so we could go in it. Silver’s favorite thing in the world is chicken nuggets. Mc Donald’s was having a special of 50 nuggets for $10. This was our gift to Silver for his time.
He had no idea and was pleasantly surprised.
We love having such wonderful friends to be around!!!
The kids played for about an hour and off to the Mansion we went.
Silver put in the pass code and in we all drove to the Governor's parking lot. Nate said it for all of us “This is the first time in my life I feel really important!”

This looks like wallpaper but it is actually all painted by hand-incredible!
The wood carving all over the home was just exquisite.
The governor's wife was upstairs so we weren’t able to see the ballroom on the 3rd floor. This was once a privately owned home. I could have stayed for hours admiring every detail.
Then we headed for the capitol.
He is just so HANDSOME!!!
We were the last ones left in the building so we all just ran around being goofy.
The kids were trying to look interested in the representative’s room.
Most of the kids were too little go go up and outside of the rotunda so the adults took turns going up. While we waited for the first group My Love played games with the kids.

Then when it was our turn we realized why the kids couldn’t come …it was steep steep steep!
My Love kept trying to take pictures of my butt while I climbed ahead of him.
Terri was so so brave considering she is deathly afraid of heights!
All I have to say is that next time I’m bringing a pen!!!
At the top the view was breathtaking, the night clear and crispy!!
Then we went to the senator’s room.

We finally got it together.
Then it was time for the $6,000,000 room. It is called that because the gold used to decorate this room is worth that much.
The it was time for the Governor's Office.
The kids lined up and took turns sitting in his desk. Each had a pose.
Our kids went under his desk as well.
It was fun looking through his book shelves.
Doesn’t this look like it might be one of the original light bulbs.
On our way out everyone took a candy. Terri almost knocked it over.
This is place is just gorgeous!!!
It was time to see where Silver works.
We all got to see the surveillance room.
Silver gave all the kids deputy badges…..they were thrilled!
